Sylvanian Families Starry Point Lighthouse

Sylvanian Families Starry Point Lighthouse

There is something so appealing about Sylvanian Families.  I can totally see why my daughter loves them so much.  The characters are so cute with their clothes and accessories and they open up a whole world of imaginative play.

How cute are the Sylvanian Families

My daughter has quite a collection now with a house, playground and nursery and lots and lots of families.  She loves them.  She will often get them all out and plays happily for hours making up scenes and acting things out with the characters.  I love to watch her as her imagination takes her off on all sorts of exciting adventures.

She has already been talking about adding to her collection at Christmas time, so when Starry Point Lighthouse arrived, she was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to get it out and add it to her Sylvanian Families play.

It really is the loveliest playset.  It comes with lots of accessories and the attention to detail is incredible. It comes with the main lighthouse, an upstairs balcony, upstairs balcony railing, projector unit, lighthouse top, 3 lighthouse fences, wooden deck, 4 wooden deck railings, upstairs floor, kitchen, sofa, table, bed, blanket, balloon, balloon arm, ladder, 3 projector slides, stickers and a story book.

Everything included makes the set a great starter set as you can add in a family or two and with the accessories, there is lots of scope for play. Inside the lighthouse, there are three rooms, a curved area which we use as the kitchen, a living room and an upstairs room which is perfect for a bedroom. There is even a staircase made up of shell-shaped stairs.

Outside, there is decking with railings that can be added to the front, the front door can be opened and there is a balcony with a railing.

The lighthouse part of the playset is really cool.  It has a working light which comes with three projector slides and one thing to remember is that once the batteries on, the light will only switch on with one of the slides in place.  I say that as we couldn’t get the light to work and it really puzzled us.

Once the light is on, there are two options.  Firstly, it acts as a normal lighthouse light and when you pop the top on, there are reflectors which help reflect the light out.  Alternatively, if it is dark, the three slides all have an image on and if you leave the top off, the picture is displayed on the ceiling.  It is a really nice addition to the set.

Once you have had fun with the light, there is another really cute addition; a hot air balloon for the little member of the Sylvanian Families.

This is attached to a special arm that the balloon attaches to and you can swing it around to give the little characters a ride.

The thing I really love about Starry Point Lighthouse is the attention to detail.  There is a nautical theme throughout the set.  The floors are covered with tiny sailing boats, the railings look like waves, some of the windows are shaped like boats.  The furniture follows the same theme with a swinging boat which can be used as a chair or a bed and a table shaped like a dolphin.  These are all really thoughtful details which make the set even more charming.

We love this Starry Point Lighthouse.  It is a gorgeous set and my daughter has played with it non-stop.  I like the design, it is good a good quality set which will last and it encourages imaginative play which is perfect. The RRP is £59.99 and you can find out more about this set and lots of others on the Sylvanian Families website.

What a great little set my daughters would absolutely love this! We have a whole Sylvanian village living in their room but we don’t have a lighthouse. Yet. Ha!
