February 8, 2022 in Parenting

With so many kids spending hour after hour sitting in front of their computer or television screen, it’s never been more important to encourage your little ones to become more active. It’s vital that your kids can get at least 1 hour of vigorous exercise each day, but actually encouraging them to start their exercise journey isn’t as easy as you might expect. It can be tough to encourage your little ones to get up and get moving, but thankfully this guide contains a number of innovative ideas that you can make the most of now. So, if you’re interested in finding out more, then simply read on!

How To Get Your Kids To Be More Active

Find a Team Sport

One of the best ways to encourage your children to become more active is by finding them a team sport that they can join. Team sports can come in all shapes and sizes from basketball to football, netball, cricket and so much more, so you can easily stumble across a game that your little ones are sure to enjoy. A team sport is a great opportunity to get your kids involved in exercise, as they will likely focus far more on the opportunity to build good friendships within their team rather than dreading their daily exercise! Most team sports train several times a week, meaning your child will have the commitment of several exercise sessions to keep them as active as possible. Joining a team sport can be a great way to ease them into exercise as it can help them to form a positive opinion of working out, as they will no doubt enjoy playing with their friends no matter how out of breath they may be! Sign them up and watch how their love for exercise flourishes before your eyes.

Get Some Sport Equipment

Investing in some sports equipment is another great way to get your kids active, as having the tools you need within arm’s reach will motivate them to get up and get moving on a regular basis. Start off by filling your garden with a whole host of sporting equipment, including a basic playset like a swing and some monkey bars, as well as added extras like a basketball hoop and some football goal nets. This way they can head out into the back garden to let off some steam with ease! Other transportation-style sporting equipment that they can use on a daily basis such as a bike or scooter can also be of real benefit, as they can use them to get from A to B while working up a sweat. Reading a guide to Micro scooters will give you the lowdown on what kind of scooter your child will appreciate the most, so be sure to do some research beforehand to make the best decision.

Encouraging your kids to be more active has never been such a simple task when you can utilise some of the brilliant tips and ideas that have been carefully explained above. There’s no time like the present to get started, so what are you waiting for?
