Micromanaging Anxiety_ Little and Large Tactics

If you find it difficult to feel more confident in your life, you are not alone. Anxiety is something that we are all feeling in one way or another, and even feels like it’s on the increase. When we are trying to manage anxiety what will work for one person may not work for someone else, which is why a wide range of options need to be on the table. Let’s show you some little and large tactics.

A Healthy Lifestyle

You may have a lot of sugar in your diet, in which case, reducing this can make a big difference, as well as reducing caffeine and processed foods. You may also want to incorporate more relaxing supplements and herbs into your life, such as CBD and CBG. While both of these relate to cannabidiol, you can weigh up CBG vs CBD for yourself and see which you would benefit from.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Find a quiet place and slowly tense and relax each muscle group, from the top of your head all the way down to your toes. Hold the tension only for 3 seconds before releasing quickly. This could give you control over the feelings of tension that can be a symptom of anxiety.

Box Breathing

Anxiety makes us breathe faster. This approach where you are breathing in for 4 seconds, holding for 4 seconds, exhaling for 4, and holding for 4 can make a massive difference.

Tiny Acts of Bravery

Overcoming something that makes you anxious can help you to cope with it. Because if you avoid what makes you anxious, it can make you more stressed out in the long term. The little victories can do a lot for you.

Note When Anxiety Comes

If you can identify triggers, patterns, and durations of your anxieties, you can plan your day or week accordingly so you can manage your anxiety better.

Tackle Your Self Talk

If you hear your negative chatter constantly, this can take over. Being pragmatic and looking for the absolute truth in a situation can help you to come to terms with what your internal chatter is doing, and come to the realisation that it is your brain working overtime.

Bringing Yourself to the Present Moment

When we think about the past or the future, we are not achieving anything because we’re not actually being in the now. You can learn to stay in the present moment through meditation but there are also many videos on YouTube that can help you to stay in the present moment.

Make Time To Worry

Some people cannot help but become anxious. One of the best techniques is to give yourself 10 minutes to get it all out of your system by writing it down or venting, which can help you stop your worries from taking over.

Be Kind to Yourself

Anxiety is not who you are; it is a mental health condition. You may have people around you that are refusing to even believe they have had anxious episodes which can make you feel inferior. But we are not weak or inferior – we have an obstacle that we need to overcome, so we must give ourselves that pass.
